Rock the Block: Secret Sewciety

This is a Mystery Block of the Month Sewing Class, with three sewing days to choose from. We'll meet on the 1st Saturday, as well as the 2nd Tuesday of each month, from 10:30 a.m - 2:30 p.m. (Thursday classes available here.) This class will present challenges and build on what you know, making a variety of blocks using different techniques. You'll make a Secret Sampler quilt, with the help of a teacher each month. With additional free sit & sew days available! (schedule coming soon) Class is $10, and does not include the monthly fabric subscription kit of $25.00.

Secret Sew Along Sampler:

Maybe you’ve seen the most recent publication by Lady Needledown's Newsletter. She's the anonymous author of the local gossip-filled newsletter publication. Somehow, she always seems to know everyone's business, especially ours. We suspect she's a local quilter, and someone who spends a lot of time here at the shop. She’s spilling tea again and sharing secrets! I'll confess, it’s all true… Cotton Hearts Quilt Shop has a new subscription called Rock the Block! This year our Rock the Block series is a mystery quilt, but we’ve taken some of the mystery out by allowing quilters to select their own fabric collection. This is What’s Sewing On here at Cotton Hearts:

1. Come to the first class on the day of your choosing!

2. Learn about our SECRET SAMPLER QUILT and join the fun!

3. Pick from curated colorways. 

4. Receive your 1st Rock the Block Fabric Subscription Packet and Rock the Block cutting instructions.

5. Treat and cut your fabric and make your first block! Take along your next packet to prepare and cut your pieces to bring back for the September class!

6. Return to the 2nd class, ready to sew your 2nd block! (Or maybe 2 blocks, I'd tell you, but it's a secret! I hope Lady Needledown doesn't spoil the surprise!) 

7. Sew Along with guidance, tips and tricks, trying new techniques, and learn new skills. You'll get to try new tools and meet Guest teachers along the way!

8.) Receive monthly Lady Needledown Sewciety Periodicals and Hints!

9.) Continue with your Block of the Month Secret Sampler Quilt for 12 months.

10.) Add unique Bonus Blocks if you desire a larger quilt.

11. Build a beautiful 70"x90" sampler quilt, month by month.

12) Swap class days on the calendar that work for your schedule that month, followed up by free sit & sew days.

13.) Enjoy a spot of tea!

13.) Hang out with old friends and meet new like-minded, quilty, friends along the way! Laugh and have fun while sharing your hobby!

14.) Gather with all the participants for a catered Show & Tell, sharing all the quilts made using the exact same Secret Quilt Pattern, but different fabrics!
