Featherweight Sewciety

Cute. Petite. Lightweight. Classy. Black, white, or colorful. The Energizer Bunny of sewing machines… The Fabulous Featherweights! Join us as we gather each month to celebrate this marvel of American History. Bring your vintage Singer, Kenmore, Bel-air, whatever little lovely you have! 

This is an open sew day on the 2nd Monday of each month from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. You can join us to sew for $5 each month.  You're welcome to sit and sew whatever project you'd like with your little gem of a machine. Or you're welcome to join us as we work on our "Build-A-Block" series using the Mercantile Quilt Seeds Patterns. 

There are six blocks in this Build-a-Block Mercantile Quilt Seeds series. We started with the pattern, “Sewing Machine” and we're using a fun assortment of Lori Holt fabrics! Each Block finishes at 25” x 29” and can be made into a mini one-block wall-hanging, a larger four-block wall hanging, or a six block 57.5” x 74” quilt. You can make your favorite block and stop at one or make all six blocks. Each kit is $35.00 and includes what you need to make one block: one Lori Holt Mercantile Pattern, assorted Lori Holt fabrics, and Lori Holt Sew Handy stickers to keep you organized. A new block is introduced every other month. You can purchase your kits here, and pick them up in the store if you'd like to have your pieces cut in time for our Sit & Sew Featherweight Sewciety! Or you can pick them up when we meet to sew.
